I searched for weeks to find an icon status indicator for Windows 7 like the excellent icon in XP. You know the icon, the one that lets you see inbound/outbound traffic by lighting up when your computer is sending/receiving data. The link below will give you access, free of charge, to the small script (.exe). I search the Net so much I do not know where I got this script from. I can tell you I found dozens of this same script within 72 hours of searching.
It is free from any adware, malware, trojans and viruses. I use ESET AVI to scan any and all files in my computer and ClamX that runs continuously on my servers. ESET is by far the best AVI around with virtually no overhead on my local system. ClamX is also low overhead on servers. Click here to get a free copy of ESET AntiVirus/Security Suite to trial: tinyurl.com/y95cmdv Yes, I do get one month free for anyone that signs up. Big deal! It is a fantastic program!
Anyway, I took a left turn on the subject of the Post: The XP Internet Status Indicator for Windows 7.
Here is the link to get your Windows 7 Internet Status Icon: WarriorMSI.org/Win7/network-indicator.zip.
The script is free. At least leave a positive comment after you install the icon. I thank all of you that comment on my Blog! I will respond to any comments if am asked to do so, and then some :>). Spammers keep out!
This is a ligit Blog. No Bots run here!!!
Install icon by executing the .exe file in the link and then drag the active Internet status icon to the menu bar from the "active programs box". Sometimes it installs directly into the bottom bar. It depends on what version of Win 7 you are running. No biggie to drag and drop the status icon into the bottom bar. Send me a comment if you cannot do it and need help.

I enjoy reading a post that will make people think. Also, thanks for allowing me to comment!
I installed ur network status program, and I have an ICON in my task bar now. How do I know if and when I loose my internet connection?? I used to have a GREAT program named ICONN but for some reason it doesnt work any more. I am not a geek but I think its a WIN 7 thing. I liked that program, it gave minutes, hours that my connection was down, so when COMCAST doubted me I had ICONN and printed out the down times. I will keep trying to figure out ur program. I really miss something like that. Thanks and have a GREAT DAY… Marsh in Connecticut..
You have to reload it every time you reload your computer. But it works great.
