You will need to start monitoring and (more importantly) participating in the conversations that are going on about your industry, products, services, brands, etc.

Search Engine Optimization is an absolutely critical piece of your online marketing strategy — however, it is no longer a viable stand-alone strategy. In 2010 and beyond, businesses will become more savvy than ever before, realizing that more web traffic doesn’t necessarily equal more profits.

I have watched all of the Google Cash Detective (GCD) videos and really like the software Chris Carpenter has put together. He has done a great job! I would love to just go buy a seat on the platform, but for $2,000, I am a bit hesitant and here is why.

First I am never one to jump on a system especially one as powerful as this one until the dust settles. I know what you are thinking...there are only so many seats allowed and then they will close the doors. Well in my long lifespan I know that closed doors can always be opened and people die or quit or just stop paying. So closed doors do not scare me. What is that old saying? What goes around comes around? I wonder who originally said that because it really does not make sense but we all know what it means.

I also know that new products and software are only 'new' for a short period of time. Other companies that have been in the same or similar businesses for years will come out with similar packages and then undercut the new offerings to hold or regain market share.

So I think Chris has a great product and because he is the 'first to market' with this type of data query software, he can command a high price and get it.

One of my first thoughts when I saw the first video Chris put out was that Google is going to give one of those famous "Google slaps" to people drilling into their system and adding to their system overhead, meaning using serious processor time due to a lot of people searching their data base with basically a remote controlled "bot". Maybe they will and maybe they won’t. I prefer to watch for awhile.

I do know there are some really good companies that can do very close to what Chris has built. And Chris was right that you have to enter your data and wait a few days and weeks to get some meaningful data, but we all have the time to do that. Using GCD what if we were to get one of those million or even thousand hit keywords? It will cost thousands of dollars in PPC costs each month.

I know, you think you will have the money to pay since the PPC is paying you daily or weekly. In my experience, when your business is growing really fast, you need solid cash in the bank, not on the way, or hope they pay me soon enough, to pay the bills. One missed payment and poof, you not only lost your $2,000 for the software, but you lost your account with Google, too. You have to have capital to play big in this type game.
